Here’s the footing in the making for the SW stair tower. This one is clearly design to help protect the building from “the big one”. The footing is 33′ wide by 33′ long by 3′ deep and its filled with # 8 rebar which is about one inch in diameter. This is one impressive sight. Next Tuesday it will be completely encased in concrete. Can you estimate the cubic yards of concrete? If each concrete truck is 1approximately 11 cubic yards of concrete how many truck will it take to fill this footing?
