It’s been a busy week. We completed the mass excavation last week and began digging for footings. A spread footing is the base on which we will stand the foundation walls. We dig trenches two feet deeper than the specified footing depth and then back fill rock in the trench with material that compacts (see soil report). On top of this material we stand the forms to pour concrete. Very exciting. The first “pour” of concrete is scheduled for next week.
