LPC Upgrade
By Bob Baldwin
Only a few short years ago (2011) the original black box theatre and a few office spaces were torn apart to make room for the Levinger-Poole Commons. This summer the LPC will undergo its next significant facelift. The kitchen will move to the opposite end of the building expanding and replacing the set shop and music room. Key elements of the kitchen design include double the hood space, a breakfast and made-to-order bar, lots of new equipment, double the freezer and refrigerator storage, expanded grab and go, and a new dishwashing station. Queuing for the food will be organized so that it is separate from the dining room and check-out stations have been added to improve the flow. Other features of the design include all new furnishings, a wheelchair lift to improve accessibility to level two, and two private dining spaces.
